How To Stop eBay Auction Sniping

What is eBay auction sniping?

If you bid for a few things on eBay, the chances are that ultimately you will finish up getting your bid beaten at the very last second by a ‘sniper’. This can be a frustratiebay auction sniperng experience, and whereas in theory sniping is against the laws and you’ll be able to report it to eBay, in practice they never do anything concerning it.

Manual sniping isn’t that tough, if you’ve got a ton of your time to spare and a reasonably fast Internet connection. Write down when every auction that are bidding on ends, and then make certain that you are sitting there in front of the page for that vital last minute. You can then outbid the present winning bidder, or defend your own winning bid.

The most important tip you actually need to remember for manual sniping is to make sure that you just set your bid quite high – otherwise you might be automatically outbid, and the auction will have ended before you’ll bid once more. This is called ‘manual sniping’ and needs a lot of free time to make it work properly, and it’s not worth wasting your time to compete against someone who is using an automated sniping service.

With automatic sniping there are two types-

1. The first type are online services that will snipe on your behalf for a small fee. A lot of these services will offer a free period for trial, and then charge a fee. These are good at doing what you pay them for, as they will get what you want at a good price, and this saves you a lot of time and effort.

2. If you don’t want to pay every time for an on-line service, then you might be better off getting a bit of software like iSnipeIt (www.isnipeit.com) or SnipeRight (www.sniperight.com). You will pay for these once and use them for as long as you would like. Once you have put in the software on your computer, you tell it which auctions you would like sniped and the highest price you’re willing to pay. The software will then place the bid with only some seconds left. The only disadvantage is that you will have to leave your pc on nearly repeatedly, or you may miss the end of some auctions.

How To Stop eBay Auction Snipingauction sniper

Bidders will bid on an item and then look forward to days till it finishes, only to have somebody else outbid them at the last minute. In a ancient auction at a true auction house, this is not a problem in the least, because the auction keeps going till everybody has bid as much as they need to, and therefore the auctioneer double-checks with the classic phrase “going, going, gone”.

The downside on eBay is caused by the fixed length of time that eBay’s auctions last, and the very fact that they are not extended considerably if somebody places a brand new bid in the last few seconds of the auction. Imagine if a real auction house worked like that , letting folks shout “fifty cents more!” at the last second and win an item. It would simply be unfair, and many consumers suppose it’s unfair on eBay too. There are a few online auctions (eg. Gray’s online) that do let the auction go past the advertised finish time, especially if the final bidding in the last 5 minutes is frantic.

So, what can we do to stop eBay sniping.

First off, you’ll be able to encourage your buyers to use eBay’s proxy bidding system the way it had been meant to be. The plan of the system is that they enter the maximum they’re willing to acquire an item and eBay places bids for them automatically up to that price. They are not supposed to come back and bid an extra greenback each time they get outbid. If your bidders are bidding high enough, then no sniper can come along and beat them – because they will have set the utmost snipe level in their sniping software to the conventional bidder’s maximum. Changing the way folks use eBay is difficult, though.
Another way is to keep an eye on who’s bidding on your auction, and cancel bids from known snipers – but this needs you to be around right at the tip of the auction to cancel their bids. You might also need to line your auction to finish someday when bidders will be around so that they will outbid snipers themselves. This is nice business senebaysnipingse anyway – most of the bidding perpetually takes place in the last few hours of an auction.

An easier method to thwart bid snipers is to supply ‘Second Chance’ sales to bidders who get outbid by a sniper at the last minute. This is nice for you, and for them – they still get to shop for the item they wanted, and you’ve just created 2 sales: one to the sniper and one to them.

I have listed a few ideas on how to beat the eBay sniper, but no solution is perfect. In business there are no friends, just business associates, so sometimes you have to ask yourself-’if you can’t beat them, then should I join them?’.

The choice is yours, so good luck and leave me a comment below on what you think about this topic and how you deal with the situation.

Source Low Cost Products

Where to Source Low Cost Products for resale on eBay.

Sometimes people have trouble sourcing low cost products cheaply enough to sell it for a sensible profit. This is common with ‘new timers’ entering the eBay market, but with a little advise and tips, I can have you thinking, buying and selling like a powerseller, in no time at all! Here are some really common venues, to access a wide variety of products, to get you started making money the easy way, on eBay.

Discount Shops
source low cost products

This may be a very little surprising to source low cost products, but some outlets even sell things cheaper than they sell on eBay. Have a go searching your local deep discounter, and pay special attention to any shop that takes trade-ins from customers. The possibilities are they take a loss on trade-ins as a promotion, and are dying to get rid of that stock.

Garage/Yard Sales

The probabilities are you’ve gone most of your life seeing ads for these and ignoring them. Start going to as many as possible. You will not find good things at every one, however when you discover one person with smart stuff, make them an offer for the whole lot – they will be happy, and you can get a real discount.

Pawn/Hock Shops

Pawn shops don’t typically realise what to do with the junk they accumulate (unless it’s jewellery). Generally, they place their stock out on the shelves haphazardly, hoping that sometime somebody with a little money will simply happen to come back in, search around and obtain wildly obscure things. Get them to offer you a discount for bulk.

Markets

If your suburb incorporates a market, then go there and shop around for something smart, that you know will resell on eBay easily, or you are sure there is a market for this product. You may buy it there if it’s low cost enough, or strive to create friends with the market traders, for future sales, and find out who their suppliers are.

Auctions

Go to a real auction,to source low cost products, as the probabilities are that you’ll be able to resell things for more than they will sell them. After all, they only have some hundred folks in that room – you have a few million to sell to!

Newspaper Ads

Place an ad in the local paper that reads “I pay money for [your item kind]”, along with your phone number. If you can afford it, make it a massive show ad, therefore it will be noticed. There is a lot of valuable stock out in the community and you can’t be everywhere at once, so use advertising to cover a larger area to source low cost products.

Ad Boards

In grocery stores and shopping malls there is always an Ad board with a list of articles that people are ready to sell for next to nothing. A lot of these banner ads also come with photos of the items for sale, so it is quick and easy to see if anything there is worth spending your time to investigate further.

Family and Friends

Ask your family and friends if they have anything they’d like to sell you. Most times they would be glad to give it to you for a reasonable price, and they are probably happy to get rid of it. Also, ask them to spread the word to their friends and associates. The wider the circles of friends, the bigger the market of available products becomes.

Advertise Yourself

Get the word out in the local and wider areas, that you are interested in sourcing a large group of low cost products. Give out business cards, and mention to people what you do. The chances are that you’ll come across someone who will, or will know someone who will, have a large supply of valuable products for sale. Remember, it is not what you know- but who you know!

Liquidating Businesses

Keep your eyes open when travelling and in advertisements for information about Bankrupt businesses selling stock at desperate prices. When a business is closing down and having a final sale, they will be desperate to get what money they can and also to get rid of it so they don’t have to transport to somewhere else.  As sad as it sounds, your can gain from another company’s loss, so this is a good example of where to source low cost products.

Drop Shipping

Drop shipping is another exciting avenue to source low cost products. Dropship companies have a huge supply and gigantic range of products, to satisfy every market. Drop shipping use means all you have to do is find the customers, and just sell the products. The dropship company holds the stock, does the packaging, and posts the product to your customer, and then you get paid.

eBay

When you’re looking at the finished items view, you’ll notice the huge vary of costs that things can sell for on eBay. Try taking the highest-priced item and looking for it on its own, then sort by lowest value first. I can almost guarantee that you will see an auction for the identical item where it sold for pretty much nothing. The trick is to search out these flawed auctions before they close, win them using a bid sniping service, and then turn around and resell the item.

Sky High Auctions

Insights about Sky High Auctions: Advantages and Disadvantages     i spy auctions

Over the years, eBay has become one of the largest platforms where you can buy and sell different kinds of items. Many sellers have shared their own stories of triumph in eBay, encouraging others to venture into online business. Then, people started to rave about eBay and various eBay tools, strategies, and tutorials, and training courses that claim to help you succeed in eBay have sprung up like mushrooms in the World Wide Web. The developers of these tools have created a business out of eBay. This article focuses on Sky High Auctions, an eBay training course and tackles its advantages and disadvantages to help you decide on its worth.

Overview of Sky High Auctions

You need to sign up in their website first to become a member of Sky High Auctions. The website contains navigation menus such as Newsletters, Member’s Home, Account, Help Section, Promote Sky High Auctions (Earn $$$), Member’s Lessons, Sky High Vault, and Bonuses.

Advantages of Sky High Auctions

Paying for the Sky High Auctions membership fee gives you a full access to the training courses and other online selling information available in their website. By clicking the menu Newsletters, you will find a list of tutorials and training documents. Their materials are suitable for novices and experts alike, because they cover a wide-range of topics that are perfect for those who are just starting out or those who already have an experience in eBay and just want to seek help on how to expand their markets. The topics range from the very basic ones, like What Should You Sell on eBay? to advanced ones, like Top Five Importing Tips. You will just have to browse through the documents to determine which ones are essential to you.

Aside from the Newsletters section, you can also find valuable information on menus labeled as Member’s Lessons, Sky High Vault, and Bonuses. The documents on the Newsletters area are just introductory topics. You can find the bulk of the training course and in-depth lessons on the Member’s Lessons section. We can say that this section is the core of Sky High Auctions and studying each article here can provide you very valuable lessons you can use in your business venture.

Disadvantages of Sky High Auctions

In this discussion of the disadvantages of Sky High Auctions, we will focus on two parts: the website and the training courses. First, let us discuss the things in their website that need a little change. When you click on the menus Member’s Home and Account, the link does not take you to another page. Instead, it just reloads the page. Generally, their website is quite cluttered. This is a major disadvantage because it gives the members an impression that Sky High Auctions is not service oriented. Once the members have paid their fees, it is like they are left to go through the seemingly disorganized website and look for the tutorials on their own.

Now, we will discuss the disadvantages of Sky High Auctions’ content. Just like the website, their content is also not organized. It seems like they just dumped them all in the website without even bothering to arrange them in an orderly manner. For example, in the Newsletter section, the articles are cluttered and are not organized according to the topics. They are just listed there randomly.

Organization is essential if you seek to present very important information. If you will just dump all the resources there without arranging them step by step, you are just going to create more confusion on the part of your readers. It is very hard to sift through the voluminous amount of eBay tips, suggestions, guidelines, tutorials just to get what you and your business need as of the moment. This is somewhat an information overload.

Conclusion

Sky High Auctions can be an effective tool to help you and your eBay business succeed. They have amazing resources that tackle almost everything an online seller should know such as ecommerce, product sourcing, and internet marketing. However, they need to pay attention to the organization of their website and of their training courses. There is no doubt that they provide the necessary information. The question is, are they able to relay these effectively to their readers? Perhaps Sky High Auction should be more service oriented. If they do this, surely you and Sky High Auctions will both succeed.

Make Money on eBay

Valuable Strategies on How to Make Money on eBay                                       i spy auctions

Many are attracted to the amount of profit online businesses promise and due to this, online marketplaces such as eBay have been flocked by so many sellers. You can review so many materials on the World Wide Web on how to make money on eBay but in my opinion, a multitude of these are just rehashed by people who know nothing about online selling. I have been an online seller for a couple of years now and in order to help the novices in this kind of business, here are some of the most valuable lessons I have learned from selling on eBay.

Avoid Saturated Niches

Every seller seeks to make money on eBay but before even getting started, most are plagued by the question “What do I sell?”. There are so many popular products and categories on eBay and hence determining what to sell on eBay can be very daunting.

To make things easier, avoid niches that are very saturated with sellers. Competition is very fierce on these categories so you will have a small chance of earning substantial amounts of money. According to eBay and PayPal, the most saturated categories are those that are related to gadgets and technology such as Electronics, Cameras, Cellphones, Computers, and Video Game Systems.

Determine Where to Source Products

When you have determined what to sell, the next thing you should do to make money on eBay is to determine where to get your products. Usually, the methods eBay sellers use to source their products are determined by the amount of capital they are willing to invest in their business. eBay sellers who are seeking to expand their business already have a strong financial footing so they can easily source their products from wholesalers or manufacturers, whereas those who are just starting to make money on eBay will have to thoroughly seek the most affordable yet dependable product source.

Drop shipping is the primary method of product sourcing eBay sellers utilize because it is relatively convenient. All you have to do is to sign up for a drop shipping company and when a client orders and pays for your product, place your order in the drop shipping company and use the client’s payment to pay for the product and the shipping fees. The drop shipping company practically handles much of the business transaction. However, because it does so much work, its service is quite expensive and hence it gives much smaller profit margins compared to wholesaling. You may use drop shipping during the initial phase of your business but when you have set everything up, it is advisable to look for better ways to source your products in order to make money on eBay easily.

For many, wholesaling is the most viable option but this is applicable only to those who have enough capital to invest. One good way to make money on eBay is to source your products from local manufacturers. Most of them offer discounts depending on the number of items you are going to purchase and you can check the quality of their items personally. Another advantage of this is that you can save on freight and other costs for the delivery of your products to your location. You can also make money on eBay by offering to be the trading partner of people who do not know how to sell their items on eBay.

Keep Track of Your Spending

One of the most insidious traps many eBay sellers fall into is overspending. Many sellers on eBay are not really trained to handle business and they think that the only way to make money on Bay is to sell and sell and sell. Obviously, this is not true. Business has many aspects and selling to make money is only one of them.

To make money on eBay successfully, monitor your cost of sales, which is the percentage of your sales that is applied to your eBay and PayPal fees. Ideally, this amount should be lower than 10%. Monitor your eBay Sales Reports to keep track of the percentage of your cost of sales on a weekly and monthly basis. Make sure that your fees are worth everything you are paying for, because many upgrades and subscriptions are not, such as the Premium store subscription. This is requires you to pay $49.95 a month to use its additional features, and it should be able to generate enough sales to justify the cost. Otherwise, it is not a great way to increase your income and make money on eBay.

eBay Selling Tips

To Successfully Sell Your Items|eBay Selling Tips                            eBay Selling Tips

eBay is a popular website for buying and selling different items. It allows sellers to advertise their products and buyers to choose the best product with the best price from the given range of choices. If you are planning to sell items on eBay, you need to have a strategy so you can attract buyers and stand out from other sellers of the same product. Here are some eBay selling tips to help you effectively market your products.

Tip #1: Create “Smart” Titles

This is one of the most important eBay selling tips. The first thing you must learn when selling on eBay is to know how to create “smart” titles. You can have the best product in the world, the lowest price, the most beautiful description, and the most affordable shipping fee, but all these will not matter if no one notices your product. A good title is one that is packed with popular and relevant keywords. Why? This is because most buyers search only by using keywords; they do not type a whole sentence or the entire description of a product.

eBay allots 55 characters for the title, so maximize its use and create a title that contains all the relevant keywords. If you are confused as to what keywords to use, pretend that you are a buyer. One of the most important eBay selling tips is to know the behavior of buyers. If you were a buyer looking for a specific item, what would you type in the search box? Would you type “WOW”, “L@@K”, or “$$$”? Certainly not, so it would be advisable not to include these when creating your title.

Once you have come up with great keywords for your title, take these things into consideration:

- Separate each word in your title with just a space.

- Avoid using punctuations unless absolutely necessary.

- Avoid using special characters (*, $, &, %, #,-) as they can confuse eBay’s search system which might prevent your listing from appearing in the search results. Many of these characters are advanced Boolean search commands, which affect the search results, so it is better not to use them. Besides, a very few buyers include special characters in their keyword searches, so it is better to omit them.

- You can capitalize the first letter of every word of your title or you can opt to capitalize every letter to grab more attention.

- It helps if your title is catchy, clever, and grammatically correct but you need to prioritize the insertion of the most popular and relevant keywords to make your items sell successfully.

Tip #2: Make Your Products Appealing

Another important addition to this list of eBay selling tips is to make your products appealing and interesting to the buyers. Of course, there are also other factors that buyers consider such as price, title, and shipping cost but you can make them instantly turn away from your product with messy, incomplete, and unprofessional descriptions. On eBay, there are also other sellers that sell the same product with the same price and what can set you apart from the rest is an excellent product description. You do not have to lie or exaggerate, just be creative and professional. Include the complete specifications of your product because they will surely choose it over an item with incomplete specifications.

An item description that is too plain and poorly written will hurt your chances of selling it successfully. Take this very seriously because this is one of the most effective eBay selling tips that you can employ.

Tip#3: Be Original

Originality means standing out from the rest, and this attracts buyers to your products; thereby increasing your chances of making a successful sale. This is another one of the most important eBay selling tips that you must know. eBay has provided sellers with visual aids such as Listing Designer and Store Themes but these are very widely used nowadays and they often seem boring and unoriginal.

To make your listings and/or eBay store more noticeable, refrain from using these eBay default features. There are many options at your disposal. You can search the web for more attractive themes that can be easily used. Or better yet, create your own with the use of a designing software.

There are dozens of eBay selling tips out there but most are actually irrelevant and only a few tips, including those mentioned here, can really help you make a successful sale on eBay.

Wholesale Clothes on eBay

How to Sell Bulk Wholesale Clothes on eBay                                                   clothes on ebay

Over the years, eBay has expanded greatly and turned to be the largest online marketplace where anything and everything can be sold or bought. Many people have been attracted to the money-making opportunities in eBay but to be able to maximize your income, one of the best things to do is to sell clothes on ebay.

Did you know that one of the most in-demand items is clothes on eBay?  In fact, in every 22 seconds, a pair of women’s jeans is sold, and this only shows that getting into sourcing bulk wholesale clothing is a very viable business option for many eBay sellers. If you are planning to sell clothes on eBay, here are some practical tips to get your business started.

Perform Market Research

The term ‘market research’ may seem too technical for some eBay sellers who do not have a background in the field of business so they tend to ignore this very important aspect. Market research is studying the buying trends of your targeted group and determining what products and price ranges are acceptable to them. For example, if you want to sell clothes on eBay, determine first whether the brand you choose to sell is popular among your targeted group of people, such as teenagers, young professionals, or senior citizens. This takes a lot of time and effort but doing so will surely give you an advantage over your competitors and contribute to the success of your business.

How can market research be performed on eBay?

Certainly, there are a large number of other people who sell clothes on eBay and to get ahead of the pack, perform market research by going through eBay’s complete listings of the brand of clothes you want to sell. Click the ‘Advanced Search’ button which is located next to the search field in almost any eBay page. Then, enter the keywords that describe the items that you are looking for.

For example, if you want to sell True Religion jeans, enter this as your search term. Scroll down and check the box that is next to the option ‘Complete Listings’ to display all the results. Items with green prices indicate that they have been sold while those with red prices were not sold. Compare the results and if the number of unsold items is greater than the number of sold items, there is a low chance that your business will fare well in selling this product. Do this for other brands and look for items that have a selling rate of 60% and above. This is a good benchmark to work with especially when you are new to selling clothes on eBay. It is impractical to count the results of thousands of listings, just gather data from at least 200 items to get a good estimate of the popularity of a product.

Find a Wholesale Clothing Supplier

When you have decided on what brands of clothes to sell, it is time to find a bulk wholesale clothing supplier. This can be a daunting task for many sellers of clothes on eBay because there are so many suppliers to choose from. Try to investigate the background of these suppliers and be very cautious of those with suspicious offers. Many of them will just try to deceive you and run away with your money. I myself have encounters so many suppliers and although some worked out great, others turned out to be a disaster. To help you avoid my pitfalls, here are some things to look out for when finding a supplier:

Avoid Suppliers of Fake Products

Fake products are never good. They may cost way lower than the original ones but they are low-priced for one reason: they are substandard. It is unfortunate that I learned this lesson the hard way. Back in my rookie days in online business, I thought that it would be a great idea to fool my buyers into thinking that the “Gucci” sunglasses I was selling were the originals, made by Paolo Gucci himself. However, I did not get the chance to sell them because as soon as they arrived in the country, they were seized by the Customs, leaving me with a loss of $500.

Use Safe Payment Options

I was looking for a supplier of stuffed wild animals and I chanced upon one after doing a Google search. After making my order, the supplier insisted that I pay through Western Union. It was too late when I realized that Western Union is one of the most unsafe payment methods available. When I received my order, most of the items were damaged (some stuffed animals had no eyes which made them look very creepy). I contacted the supplier immediately but he did not want to hear my complaints. When I requested him to give me a refund, he ignored me. Had I paid using my credit card, I would have requested my bank to perform a chargeback for me to get all my money back.

If you want to be successful in selling clothes on eBay, it would be very helpful to use these tips to avoid encountering losses in your business.
